On the surface, Britt appears to be another book of WWI historical fiction. However, it doesn't take long to discover that this novel is about so much more. Hardy gives us a rare glimpse into the lives of Wriggles and Britt, who could have easily been mistaken for just two more soldiers in the war against the 'Huns.' Instead, their lives are woven into a tender and thought provoking love story. Along the way, there are voluptuous German spies, murder and lots of aerial action sequences which help to round out the plot. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quirky, easy-to-read romance.
